Breastfeeding 1-2-3

Back to Breastfeeding Basics

by Angela White, J.D., breastfeeding counselor on March 21st, 2007

breastfeeding-basics-logo-2.jpgWho knew there would be so much to say about breastfeeding? I have covered everything from the latest news in breastfeeding activism, legislation and scientific studies to toddler nursing, sleep and nutrition. I particularly enjoy reading your breastfeeding stories and seeing your opinions in the polls.

While it’s all been fun and even sometimes funny, and I’ll continue to cover all of those things, I’d like to get back to breastfeeding basics. What are the signs of thrush? How do I know whether my baby is latched on properly? What’s a “normal” length of time for a feeding? How often should my baby nurse? What is mastitis? What’s the scoop on breastfed baby poop?

Watch for the first installment coming soon. Keep in mind that you can always submit a question for the Mom-to-Mom series as well!
