Eight Things You Don’t Know about This Breastfeeding Blogger
Author Cate Colburn-Smith (see my review of The Milk Memos) tagged me for an “eight things” meme after she listed eight things you don’t know about Cate. Given that I’ve discussed whether I shave or pluck those pesky nipple hairs, you would think there isn’t anything left that you don’t know about me, but I’ll try to come up with eight things.
1. I was a contestant on teen Wheel of Fortune, but I didn’t win any prizes other than the free supply of Rice-a-Roni and an 18-inch tall chocolate Santa!
2. I was one of two delegates from the state of California to attend the National Youth Science Camp in West Virginia. I later served as a camp counselor and public relations assistant. I loved camp! I always felt a little twinge of guilt that I didn’t go on into a career in science after that, but now I figure breastfeeding is a health science. I certainly talk about lots of scientific studies.
3. I graduated at the top of my high school class of 300+ and was named “Most Likely to Succeed.”
4. My favorite vacations are those we take in our 24-foot travel trailer.
5. I didn’t quit my career as a tax and estate planning attorney to have children. My husband got accepted to business school in Boston and I decided not to continue practicing law when we moved. Two years after that I had my firstborn, and I’ve been a happy stay-at-home mom ever since!
6. I can swim a mile and I ran a 5K last summer in under 30 minutes (but for the record, I’d much rather swim a mile than run one!)
7. As a child I got so good at playing Atari’s home video game Pac-Man that I would turn the joystick controller upside down to make the game interesting again!
8. Just to give a breastfeeding tie-in to this post, I’ll note that I’ve always wanted to climb Mount Fuji. What does that have to do with breastfeeding, you ask? When I was little, I called my mom’s breasts Mount Fujis!

So, just out of curiosity, how much Ricearoni is a “Supply”? A whole case?

I don’t remember exactly but it was enough that I didn’t want to eat it again for a LONG time!
