Fathers and Breastfeeding

Happy Father’s Day! One of La Leche League’s ten principles says it all when it comes to the father’s role in supporting breastfeeding:

Breastfeeding is enhanced and the nursing couple sustained by the loving support, help, and companionship of the baby’s father. A father’s unique relationship with his baby is an important element in the child’s development from early infancy.

I’ve said before how much I appreciate the father of my children and the extent to which he’s gone to support breastfeeding. Happy Father’s Day honey!
