To the Polls!

by Angela White, J.D., breastfeeding counselor on November 7th, 2006

It’s general election day here in the United States. In honor of voters heading out to the polls, I’ve created my own first poll! Help me learn more about you all and how old your nurslings are. Look in the sidebar to the right and vote now!

Feel free to leave any comments on this post about yourself and anything you’d like to see on the blog.

    I love polls!

I just voted… I’m still nursing my 18 month old, but all my friends think I’m a little nuts. I’ve only ever met (in person) two other people who have nursed this long. One woman who nursed until her son self-weaned at 21 months and another who stopped nursing her daughter on her 3rd birthday. She told her that once she turned 3 she could have bubble gum but no more mommy’s milk. It worked!

Thanks for voting! Most of my friends weaned their babies at 18 months or earlier, and that was where La Leche League was really nice for support and inspiration. I always felt comfortable nursing at meetings and there were plenty of moms who nursed their toddlers.
